Local Author Readings & Signings:
Miles is a local 8 year old philanthropist and author. He started Kids Saving Oceans in 2018 when he was watching Shark Week and learned about how our planet is in rough shape. He wanted to donate the $13 in his piggy bank to help. He thought that wouldn't do enough and he came up with Kids Saving Oceans. He sells clothing and accessories with designs he creates with his illustrator and donates all the proceeds to ocean and beach conservation groups. His goal is to raise 1,000,000 by the time he is 18. 2020 has slowed things down for him quite a bit, but so far he's donated over $15,000 to national and local groups
Miles and his mother were at the Great Ex Holiday Market last year. He was very interested in Tori's book The Lost Narwhal so they bought a copy. He read it twice at the event, then maybe 50 times in the next 10 days. At the event, he told his mother that he would like to write a book with Tori, and he went over and we gave her his card. The rest is history!
Miles has a fantastic new book out Olivia Makes a Difference. The book is about a girl, Olivia, who is troubled by trash she finds on a trip to the beach. She cleans it up, but wants to do more. She inspires her friends and classmates to take action and they realize that all their choices can add up to something big (I'll leave it there so as to not give any spoilers haha).
Moms, don't miss out on the chance to meet this incredible young world changer.
